Situation
One cluster in Vcenter cannot be discovered, although the rest is being discovered.

Cause

The connection needs to be ran first and should be used local user instead of domain user.

Resolution

Use Local User

Additional Information

1. modified existing “VMware vCenter Topology by VIM” discovery job by resetting the discovery variables (stop the job, delete the trigger CIs, clean the probe cache and restart the discovery flow).

2. Advised to change “VMware vCenter Topology by VIM” Properties parameter “reportVmInventoryForOs” from “Photon” to “*”

3. Advised to change “VMware_vCenter_Topology_by_VIM” Adapter Configuration max threads from “1” to “3” or “5” (default is 8) which will increase the discovery time

4. Advised to enable “Remove Expired” jobs for VMs and schedule it every day which removed expired relationship between VMWare components like ESX and Guest Hosts, due to vMotion which make changes on links to handle workload.

b. Remove Expired ExecutionEnvironment Relationship On VM
c. Remove Expired Usage Relationship On VMWare Port Group
