Q: How about integration with BeyonTrust?

A: The product management team is currently looking at integrations with variety of security and compliance solutions and will prioritize based on demand received.  This will be taken into consideration.

Tripwire for vulnerabilities

Q: Do you have plans to work with Tripwire for Vulnerabilities?

A: The product management team is currently looking at integrations with variety of security and compliance solutions including Tripwire and others and will prioritize based on demand received.  It's currently on the roadmap.

Do I have to replace Puppet/Ansible to use DCA?

Q: I already have resources that I'm managing with Puppet/Ansible, do I have to rip and replace those products in order to use the features of DCA?

A: DCAX can actually discover Puppet-provisioned resources to manage patching & compliance on them. These resources will be displayed accordingly in the DCAX Risk & Compliance Dashboards providing admins the ability to holistically manage all server resources from one place regardless of how they were initially provisioned.  The product management team will look to do the same with Ansible resources as one of their roadmap items.

DCA compared to SA

Q: You touched on this a bit in the presentation, but what do you see as the biggest value-add that DCA brings over SA?

A: Great question.. There are plenty of value-add benefits DCAX provides on top of SA

• For one, agentless patching and compliance, then you have:
• Vulnerability Risk & Compliance Dashboards,
• SLO based policies,
• Automation extensions via Operations Orchestration (run pre/post actions),
• Dynamic patching with intelligent scheduler, exception management,
• REST API, scalable architecture, in-place upgrades,
• Puppet-provisioned resource discovery for patch & compliance management through DCAX
• Integration with Operations Bridge Manager (OMi),
• External integration to Micro Focus Universal CMDB to easily import new resources
• DCA reporting and business value dashboards using the new COSO/Vertica backend

SA customers can integrate with DCAX to run in mixed-mode and take advantage of all these new features.

Q: What new/upcoming features in DCA are you most excited about?

A: There are a bunch of cool new features coming up in DCA, including DCA reporting and business value dashboards using the new COSO/Vertica back-end along with cross-domain reports from DCA and OpsB to more easily correlate and resolve system and application related issues. 

One feature that recently was introduced links OpsB Ultimate (OMi) and DCA providing the IT team an end to end solution for Application health, vulnerability and compliance risks with remediation.   This OpsB DCA integration with combined reporting will help to break down IT silos with increased visibility, shared data, and automated responses to secure and manage the IT environment.  Its purpose is to improving communication between tools and teams, to decrease risk, cost and increase IT’s response time, lessening the risk of exposure to users and the business.  Definitely worth checking out.
