I'm not aware of anything special you need to do....Its fairly simple.

You should not need to do anything they should check in on their own.  I would want to make sure all get powered on by March 21st.

I don't know too much about under the hood, but all steps are basically what we do which is to just obtain and import the new cert in advance.

I don't remember needing the original CSR??  Is that what it is saying in the renewal instructions??? I thought I just created a new CSR, then clicked RENEW in the portal and uploaded that NEW CSR??  I didn't think I had to have the Original One???

I;ve renewed the APNS Certs in the past, before we centralized and I don't remember having to have the original CSR as long as one could go to theportal and renew the SAME certificate a new CSR I thought was just fine, but the instructions seem to state otherwise, which is weird....

I think the wording on the instructions is just bad. Anyway, I noted the original Serial number and Subject DN of the certificate. Download a signed CSR from the ZENworks server, chose RENEW in the Apple APNS Certificate portal, upload the CSR, and received the renewed certificate. I imported the renewed certificate and compared the Subject DN, and it matches the previous one, so all should be well. I really wish the wording was better in the documentation. Even though I have done this many times before, that wording through me for a loop.

Then submit feedback to the documentation.  That is the way we get straight to those who document, and it usually gets a change made to help all, even if only to the next version.
