Engineering dropped support for MS SQL Server 2000 as of StarTeam 2008, so the current supported MS SQL Server is 2005 SP2.

You might encounter an error popup when trying to create a new server configuration that says your SQL Server version is invalid. In order to get past this error, you must upgrade your SQL Server 2005 to SP2 (or at least version 9.0.2047).
