Problem:
It is possble to upgrade SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2008 R2 and then upgrade StarTeam 2005 R2 to StarTeam 2009 R2?
Resolution:
It is not possible to upgrade to SQL server 2008 R2 and then upgrade StarTeam. The SQL versions required for upgrading StarTeam are:
1. StarTeam 2005 R2 with SQL Server 2000
2. Star Team 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2005
3. Star Team 2009 R2 with SQL Server 2008 (not R2)
These versions are necessary as not all versions of StarTeam have support all versions of SQL server. There are also some additional steps within each of the phases above, such as converting native I files, during the upgrade from 2005 R2 to 2008 R2.
