Problem:

How can StarTeam User"s Active Directory credentials be updated after moving / changing LDAP Server?

Resolution:

• Product Component: Users / LDAP settings
• Platform/OS Version: Windows

Rather than modifying all the StarTeam user details manually, the LDAP Quick Start Manager can be used to "re-import" the updated LDAP details into the existing StarTeam configuration. This is useful when, for example, a user"s DN has changed on the new server.

The download for LDAP Quick Start Manager is available from the StarTeam Download Page. Once downloaded perform the following steps:

1. Open LDAP Quick Start Manager
2. Add (or update existing) Directory Service under "Sources"
3. Make sure the connection is successful
4. Create (or update existing) StarTeam Server under "Targets"
5. Make sure the connection is successful
6. Select CONFIGURE | DEFAULT IMPORT OPTIONS
7. Select "Overwrite existing users properties" is selected as shown below.
8. Select "OK"
   

   
   

9. Drag the required users / groups from "Source" to "Target"

All selected users in StarTeam will now have their Active Directory credentials updated, and should be able to log on as before.
