NiFi Media server size in 12.12.0 is much smaller than the one in release 12.8

The media server in IDOL release 12.12.0 is much more smaller than the one in IDOL release 12.8.0:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1.8G Mar 1 2021 ../../IDOL12.8.0/LINUX/MediaServer_12.8.0_LINUX_X86_64_RHEL7FIPS.zip
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 407M Jul 20 10:10 NiFiMediaServer_12.12.0_LINUX_X86_64_RHEL8FIPS.zip

I wondered if we can use NiFiMediaServer_12.12.0_LINUX_X86_64_RHEL8FIPS.zip to replace original media server?

Is there any functional regression?

    Hi Yang,

    These are two different products:

    - MediaServer_12.8.0_LINUX_X86_64_RHEL7FIPS.zip is a stand-alone application and contains some heavy static data to support its many analytic options.

    - NiFiMediaServer_12.12.0_LINUX_X86_64_RHEL8FIPS.zip, contains only the NiFi processors, which expose a subset of Media Server's functionality to be run within NiFi.

For the latest version of Media Server, look for MediaServer_12.12.0_{YOUR_TARGET_PLATFORM}.zip.

    Best regards,

    Chris

    Thanks Chris for your reply.

So where can I find media server 12.12 for RHEL8 FIPS enabled? I didn't find it from the download list of IDOL 12.12 release.

I guess the file name should be:

    MediaServer_12.12.0_LINUX_X86_64_RHEL8FIPS.zip
