Knowledge Doc: Steps to restore reports data from external location

Summary
This guide provides steps to restore control command backup database files from external location back to PAM.

NetIQ PAM 4.2

Situation
The user was not unable to see the backup DB in PAM reports.

Resolution
Below are the restoration steps:

1. Normally database files are backed up in compressed format such as in gzip.. Please unzip these files back to PAM original files..

2.Copy the unzipped files to the audit location. By default the audit location is /opt/netiq/npum/local/service/audit. Please go to Hosts->audit manager->audit setting->Path to confirm that this has not been configured to different location.

3. Restart PAM service.

4. Go to PAM new UI->Reports and check if the database is loaded and you can see the data.

Please take note that the file naming of database files should be same as the rolled over files.
