Career journey:
I'm a techie at heart! :-)
1961: I got my ham radio license.
1964: My first job was with a Canadian airline where helped repair analogue computers in their flight simulation department.
1969: I transferred to the Data Processing Center and started programming.
1970: I became a systems programmer then was responsible for maintaining two IBM Systems/360 Model 50 mainframes.
1975: I began my career as an independent consultant.
1990: I became a reseller and a Novell Partner focusing on small businesses.

Over the past fifty plus years I've worked with a wide range of applications and technologies: Application programming (mainframe) Mainframe support Database: data modeling; database design, implementation, and management; data mining Networking: setup; troubleshooting; packet captures and analysis Firewalls: configuration and support Operating systems: Windows, OS/2, NetWare, Linux, VMware vSphere Workstation deployments etc...

...all the while loving it and still going strong!

The community provides opportunities to share ideas, experiences, and points of view with other IT professionals.

Hobbies: 
Travel, classical music, technology, wine (the liquid kind rather than the one that runs on Linux!)
