SMG October Release is avoidable

The October update is now available in the SMG appliance.  

Some of you may have already heard and for those who have not, a letter of explanation is being sent in November.  OpenText support time frames for long term support is done with the builds / versions that are released in Quarter 4 of each year.  While this update is being released in that time frame, this one is not part of the long term support.  We have a little bit of work to do yet with the update process before this can be considered under long term support.  I am sure that support will be coming with either the November monthly update or the December update.  We will keep you posted.

In the meantime, as usual, you can go to the History page to see what has been added to this release.  The URL for that page is https://updates.smg.microfocus.com/history/app/history

    Review the returned text below:

    Problem: the to be installed patch:SMG-Product-Upgrade-7.0.2-2023-1.noarch conflicts with 'smg-upgrade < 7.0.2-7.1' provided by the installed smg-upgrade-7.0.1-45.1.noarch
    Solution 1: install smg-upgrade-7.0.2-7.1.noarch from vendor Micro Focus
    replacing smg-upgrade-7.0.1-45.1.noarch from vendor obs://private/MCM:branch
    Solution 2: do not install patch:SMG-Product-Upgrade-7.0.2-2023-1.noarch

    Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/c/d/?] (c): c

    Use "Verified Answers" if your problem/issue has been solved!

    Development thinks that this should be an easy fix to make.  We thought we had a work around but with this being Friday and Monday being a holiday in the US, we have decided to pull the update and get it fixed correctly on Tuesday and post it again.  I do apologize for the install issue this one has caused.
