Caroline, your solution/resolution will not work, i am on oes24.3!

after running your command and confirming with "yes" the message pop up:

"the following package update will NOT be installed:

    OES-relase

  nothing to do"

and this on all my oes24.3 servers!

Claude,  it worked for me, not that I had the problem.

Before and after:

#  cat /etc/novell-release
Open Enterprise Server 24.3 (x86_64)
VERSION = 2023.1
PATCHLEVEL = 1
DISPLAY_RELEASE = 24.3

i don't find a file OES-release in /etc, only a file OES-brand or os-release

The os-release is for the base Operating System, which is solidly SuSE,  with OES being the integrated add-on as reflected in novell-release

Andy, OES-release is in the output from command "zypper up" or "zypper patch", not a file on my /etc/directory

and the resolution from Caroline is to stopped this false message, but this will not!

Claude,  revisit what this TID/KB is all about

    "OES patches are installed, but the version is not updated in /etc/novell-release or the boot menu."

If that is working properly, why is it a problem if patching was all successful and there is 'nothing left to do'?
