Hello Everyone. As per my previous posts, I upgraded to the iPrint Appliance 23.4 not too long ago. Most of the users are now migrated, but I noticed something a bit weird that I am hoping you can clear up for me. It seems that certain functions, such as uploading driver's to the driver store, and creating driver profiles, still REQUIRE Internet Explorer. Edge running in Internet Explorer mode does NOT seem to qualify. I recently added 2 new enterprise printers, and sure enough I had to use IE to upload the drivers and create the driver profiles. Luckily I keep a 64bit Windows 10 VM around, that can still run the full version of IE. Am I missing something? Is there some area in the iPrint Appliance 23.4 and beyond that allows us to use a modern browser like Chrome to do this? I just thought this would be sorted by now.
One other question. I notice from the Update Channel:
I can go to new versions of iprint straight way:
Is this safe? Have you all had good luck with this? (I can snapshot and backup the VM before I do it, but I'm just curious). As well, I noticed OES (Open Enterprise Server was in the mix) I imagine since edir is still used as the directory base, pieces of OES still live within the appliance?
Anyways, thanks for clearing some of this up for me. Thanks in advance.
