Netfolder not showing up reliably to a user

Filr 24.4.2, clustered, 2 filr, 2 index, 1 postgres

A user see a netfolder he has rights for only sometimes. Rights are correct otherwise he should not see it at all.

Reindexing the folder for both index appliances seemed to fix the problem at first, but after a while the folder vanishes again.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this? Appserver.log does not help.

Restarting indexserver service on both search appliances seems to have solved the issue.

I wonder if this might be a memory problem?

filrsearch:~ # free -g total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 31 28 0 0 2 2 Swap: 1 1 0

Java Heap Size is 24g - is it possible that this is not enough?

I assume that you use 75% of memory for java heap size which is pretty fair.

Did you check your hard disc(s) too?

If I understand correctly this concerns disk space problems on / - there are 24 GB free, I think this is not the problem. On /vastorage, where the index lives, there are 122 GB free.

And a while ago I have disabled btrfs quota which might cause load issues.

I have now a cron job which restarts the indexserver service once a week - just in case there is some "memory leak" (which is a entirely speculative idea).

I will keep an eye on the matter....
