Data Protector always had disk targets like file devices, file jukeboxes and file libraries. With the more recent "Backup To Disk" targets, also immutability gets supported. Actually immutability is a feature of the target device hardware, but even our own Data Protector Deduplication Store (DPD), which is a Backup to Disk software store, supports this feature.

I belong to opentext professional services. I have several customers using data immutability in their devices where DP backup data is saved. In particular if you set data immutability on HPE StoreOnce devices, DP cannot delete backup data until data immutability retention has been reached. If you try to delete a media saved in an HPE Storeonce who is still protected by data immutability you will receive an error message and data will not be erased from HPE StoreOnce.
