Situation

There are times when an organisation may decide a Content Manager (CM) IDOL content engine is too full. Sometimes IDOL makes this decision for them. In any event, an organisation may want to move some index data from one CM IDOL content engine to another. This article explains how to achieve this using the Direct Transfer method.

Note: There are two (2) methods for moving data between CM IDOL engines using standard IDOL commands:

1.    Indirect data transfer – Performing an Export process followed by an Ingest process (using IDOL’s DREEXPORTIDX and DREADD actions)
2.    Direct data transfer – Instructing IDOL to move data directly from one content engine to another in a single step (using IDOL’s DREEXPORTREMOTE action)
