Content Manager 10.0
When checking out a record, a folder is created in your local Offline Records folder that reflects the name of the container in Content Manager of the record, inside this folder is the document you have checked out.
Due to a business process, thousands of instances of the same container name exist in Content Manager for an entity. Each of these containers has a record named "Memo." After editing 999 instances of "Memo," the 1000th instance was not able to be edited because the Offline Records folder had 999 instances of the folder name "Container Example" and it could not create a 1000th instance of that folder name. After deleting "Container Example (999)" from the Offline Records folder, the next instance of "Memo" in Content Manager was able to be edited.
Below is the error message that occurred when trying to edit the record "Memo" after 999 instances of the "Container Example" existed in the Offline Records folder.
Is it a limitation of Content Manager that it cannot create more than 999 instances of a folder name within the local Offline Records folder of a computer? Is there any setting to change this? Otherwise for this entity, they are going to have to remember to manually delete these folders within their Offline Records folder occasionally.
