By "deleted" you mean the field cleared? What about modified, is that allowed?

You can add a validation rule with a condition on phases that it applies to.

For the validation condition, depending if you are trying to prevent the clearing the field or changing it, the condition will look like:

current_update.YourField,IsChanged == false or true (depending on the logic)

current_update.YourField.NewValue == null or != null (depending on the logic)

Alternatively, if you want to prevent a field from being modified. you can also use a restrict/allow rendering rule

What I want to achieve is for the value in the ENUM to only function during the rollback and close phases, and to return as empty in the other phases.
