Composer will auto calculate numbers but not dates. You might be able to write an appscript to do this.

However, rather than trying to store the value on the item, maybe first try using the "Duration" reports that come in SBM. Instead of creating a standard "listing" report, use the options on the "duration" tab instead. You can use these reports right away without making any changes to the system. These work by looking at the state each item is in. For example, if you have an "In Progress" state where tickets sit during the outage, you could run a report based on how long items sit in that state. Another report will group the states. So, if there is an "in progress" state and also a "validation" state, those could be grouped together and the combination could be used to calculate the total outage. The only way to know if these will work for your situation is to try this out.

Thanks for the info unfortunately I will have to go the appscript route. The Graph I am building are for each of our services downtime/outage. The Duration Graphs won't work for us Since for our outages we don't go by the Time in state as some outages are submitted right when the outage starts. So we have an outage start and outage end fields in our workflow to get the most accurate times for our records.
