Support Tip: Operations Agent - How the ASSD information of the BIOSUUID is created on Linux and Windows

When you clone the system with an installed agent and remove the ASSD data, the eaagt.sysdata deletes the BIOSUUID.

Cause

  • On Windows: Hpsensor process updates the BIOSUUID configuration in XPL.

  • On Linux: The BIOSUUID gets updated in XPL/ASSD during the OA installation time. It will not be updated by hpsensor process for the reason if OA is configured as non-root user, the BIOSUUID can’t be read.

Solution
To re-create/update BIOSUUID information :

  • On Windows, restart the hpsensor process using the below command:
    ovc -restart hpsensor

  • On Linux, reconfigure the OA using the below command:
    ./oainstall.sh -c -a
