Is Event Suppression Timer Reset upon Event Closure?

If I am suppressing identical events generated by a certain policy for X time period, will closing an event reset this event suppression timer?

Say I have Policy A preventing identical events from coming in for 50 minutes. If event with event message "Message A" comes in, and then 10 minutes later I close that event, will the event suppression prevent this same event for coming in for the next 40 minutes? Or is this timer reset upon closure of the event?
