I am pleased to announce the availability of OpenText SMAX 2023.05, our advanced IT Service Management (ITSM) platform.
This SMAX release enhances service management productivity and user experience, extends your integration capabilities, and expands asset and software asset management functionality.
For insights into some of this release’s highlights read on.
Increased service level management coverage
Service level management (SLM) has been expanded to manual tasks with support for service-level (SLT) and operational-level targets (OLT). A task grid, standard SLM widgets, and a targets tab are now available. Tasks can be easily updated with a new business rule template.
Increased IT service management productivity
A table view for CI topology, in addition to the existing graph view, displays all related CIs in a table for quick readability.
Automatic agent assignment, determined by skill or round robin, accelerates issue resolution. Smart matching for expert recommendations based on agent skills can be set in the Person record.
Additional filtering allows for faster searches by using a Contains attribute. This filtering has been added for fast searches in entity link dropdowns, record lists, and business rules based on suggested values.
PDF export creates a printable WYSIWYG PDF version of a record based on form layout and respecting rendering rules.
SMAX integrations and the integration engine have been extended. New out-of-the-box connectors and templates for Intune, WhatsApp, Jenkins, and Git are now available. Among other new features is an intelligent expression editor for integration engine scenarios.
Improved user experience and ease-of-use
Extended service portal and mobile device capabilities include an optimized UI for subcategory navigation and the ability to view the approval chain in the service portal.
Further, the functionality for users on mobile devices has been aligned to the agent mobile experience, adding a scrolling news widget, an unread/read news indicator, an all-news view, quick launch tiles, and searching based on Contains.
Improved procurement management process
Functionality for receiving and asset creation has been extended to include the automatic creation of line items in purchase orders (POs) based on multiple source requests. Purchase order PDFs can also be created at any phase of the PO process.
Expanded software asset management (SAM)
New SAM license optimization helps you manage software license positions and gain deeper insight into license ownership. Additionally, SAM now provides Symantec Endpoint license management support.
