July 2024: What’s New in OpenText NNM and NA CE 24.3

NOM, NNM, and NA 24.3 are an incremental update that includes SD-WAN Overlay support for Cisco Meraki, Deep Monitoring for Aruba Wireless, QA plugin for Network Edge Observer (NEO), and new device drivers.

  • SD-WAN Overlay support for Cisco Meraki enables automatic discovery and monitoring of SD-WAN tunnels for an ongoing view of the health of the entire SD-WAN service.
  • Deep Monitoring for Aruba Wireless enhances support by discovering access points as nodes, monitoring wireless-specific metrics, and providing dashboards and reporting for Aruba Wireless controllers and access points.
  • The QA plugin for Network Edge Observer (NEO) enables the discovery and monitoring of various probes from the networks managed via NEO and helps assess network quality throughout the network.
  • Several new and updated device drivers for new and existing vendors, bringing the total number of supported vendors to 200+ and supported devices to 3500+.

April 2024: What’s New in OpenText NNM and NA CE 24.2

Network Node Manager (NNM)

Network Node Manager (NNM) 24.2 delivers innovations designed to broaden your observability into your entire network while simultaneously reducing total cost of ownership for distributed NNM environments.

Network Edge Observer

  • Provides that capability to monitor an area of a network without the overhead of deploying an NNM server, drastically reducing the total cost of ownership for distributed NNM environments.

SD-WAN Overlays for Cisco Viptela

  • Automatically discovers and monitors overlay objects for an ongoing view of the health of the entire SD-WAN service.

Cisco Wireless LAN

  • Enables more comprehensive network observability by monitoring wireless access points and their connectivity to the rest of the network, solving the “last mile problem”.

Network Automation (NA)

Network Automation (NA) 24.2 focuses on enhanced reporting capabilities, tighter integration with Operations Orchestration (OO), efficiency gains for large enterprise customers, and NetDevOps advancements.

Automation Insight

  • Unlock a rich trove of network automation configuration data, now available in the OPTIC Data Lake, enabling new insights for network operations teams.

OO NA Integration update

  • Updated version compatibility to allow for OOTB/native OO workflow invocation directly from NA.

Task Load Optimizer

  • Improve execution and task efficiency by creating better throughput of tasks through the NA system for customers with multiple NA cores.

Git Traceability

  • Git content versioning is now surfaced for use with NA task execution and troubleshooting. This provides users with the ability to track Git CID within NA to determine if a change plan or script has been modified between task executions.

January 2024: What’s New in OpenText NNM and NA CE 24.1

NOM, NNMi, and NA 24.1 are an incremental update that delivers new Checkpoint Firewall connection monitoring, Templatized Performance Troubleshooter dashboard search filters, and new device support.

  • Advanced Checkpoint Firewall Connection Monitoring provides out-of-the-box connection pool monitoring capabilities to provide deeper insights into firewall health (NNMi).
  • Templatized Performance Troubleshooter dashboard filters enable faster troubleshooting by allowing users to easily create and save filters for nodes and interfaces to their omnibar (NNMi).
  • New and/or updated device drivers for new and existing vendors, bringing the total number of supported vendors to 200+ and supported devices to 3500+ (NNMi, NA).

October 2023: What’s New in OpenText NNM and NA CE 23.4

Network Node Manager (NNM)

SDx coverage

  • New SDN Overlays support for Cisco ACI environments: Gain deeper insight into your Cisco ACI environments by automatically discovering and monitoring End Point Group, VRF, vxLAN, and tenants.
  • Monitoring of virtual systems on Checkpoint VSX gateways: Improve the security of your network by monitoring Checkpoint virtual firewalls. This feature was a customer request on the Idea Exchange. (additional units required)

Deployment and scalability

  • Central OPTIC Data Lake for multiple independent NNMi servers: Reduce total cost of ownership by allowing multiple independent NNMi servers to use a central instance of the OPTIC Data Lake.
