The Service Manager RnD team is pleased to announce that the Service Manager 9.80 is now available to download on Software Download Portal

Service Manager 9.80 introduces over 30 new features and enhancements, in addition to fixing approximately 300 issues. The Key Features are:

Activities feature improvement

  •  Service Manager 9.80 enhances the Activities feature by embedding the Journal Updates Viewer and Activities Viewer widgets in the Activities tab.
    • On the Journal Updates tab, the New Updates field is now an HTML Editor control that enables you to enter notes with standard HTML formatting. The Journal Updates section is now a Journal Updates Viewer widget that displays all notes with IT agents' names, portraits, and timestamps in chronological order, improving the readability significantly.
    • On the Activity logs tab, the Activities Viewer widget replaces the original table control and displays all activities for the current record with standard HTML formatting. On the right side of each activity record, there is a notable tag with different background colors that specifies the update types. To shorten the list, you can filter the activities by activity type and user.

Atlassian Jira integration

  • The SM-Jira integration seamlessly incorporates Service Manager Incident/Change Management into Atlassian Jira Software's Bug/New Feature issue types and improves the efficiency of agile teams. Out of the box, this integration supports the following scenarios.
    • Synchronizing Service Manager Incident with Jira bug (SM Incident -> Jira Bug)
    • Synchronizing Service Manager Change with Jira new feature (SM Change -> Jira New Feature)

TLS 1.3 support

Java 17 support

  • To align with Oracle Java SE Support Roadmap, Service Manager 9.80 drops support of Java 11 and now operates on Java 17.
