The Copy/Paste functionality between SiteScope instances using MCC follows the same process as creating a new monitor on the target SiteScope. As a result, it requires a connection to the target systems for monitors like Dynamic Disk Space monitors to discover their counters. However, this requirement is unnecessary for this functionality since the original monitor has already been created, meaning it should not need to validate these counters again on the new instance. By using a simple workaround, we can bypass SiteScope's restrictions and copy the monitor without any issues. This approach is especially useful in large deployments where massive monitor migrations are required.

Situation

Certain monitors, like Dynamic Disk Space, will not be copied to SiteScope instances using the Copy/Paste functionality if there is no connection to the target servers. This limitation can block large-scale monitor migrations needed for upgrades or other projects
