Edit Item by type not number

I've recently upgraded to 8.2.1, and the new look is going to take some getting used to.

What I am struggling with is editing an incident / service request and changing the Item by type and not name.

In previous version you could search for an item by number of name / type, but I do not appear to be able to do so in 8.2.1:

This is a bit of show stopper, as we don't know the item numbers of all the items we have.

Is there anyway of changing this, or should I just revert back to a previous version?

OK enabling old features in the user portal gives us a way of easily updating item in a request by searching using name.

Tom,

The new portal does give some different views which means some new ways for doing things.
Let me know if I follow you correctly, but does searching from the "list" give you the results you are looking for?
You can adjust the columns with the Setup "Gear" icon on the right side.

Hope this is what you are looking for.
