Picture in the description

I am trying to get customers to add pictures as attachments but some of them still paste pictures in the description of a request. Is there a way to allow only text to be in the description box? Or do something that will not allow customers to paste pictures into the description? I don't want to disable pasting all together in case they want to paste in an error message.

We don't have a way to really stop this. How are they embedding the images? Copy/Paste? It actually shouldn't allow it now.

Yes. After testing it out, Internet Explorer and FireFox will allow a direct copy and paste into the description. Chrome will do it only if it is copied from Microsoft Paint. We are currently using Service Desk 7.2. I see the description field can display in HTML and I wasn't sure if there was something in the HTML file I can modify to only allow text into the description field.

The whole thing is HTML really but we have the HTML button in that editor to allow real HTML code to be inserted. Can you take a screen shot of the example and send to bsix@microfocus.com?

Well. I'm surprised that this allows the pasting of an image. I remember trying this and never has success. I'm puzzled. There are many customers that will be very happy to find out that this should work for them. Anyway, at the moment engineering says they can't stop the pasting with the current editor. They have not had this request before and will have to see what the v8 editor will allow.

Going forward, should we expect the ability to post images to text fields to be added or fully restricted for all browsers?

I'd probably recommend putting in "Ideas" (enhancement requests) to ensure that the functionality is there in the future and the also the ability to restrict it as well if needed.
