About advanced feed prerequire

Hi

Now I still using legacy feed to scan and patch my agent.

I read document and find the requirement.

it seem mini require for new patch agent only require Net4.8 installed.

the indeed requirement  only "Primary server" and "Satellite server must be 2020.3"

But I migrate my ZPM to using advanced feed to using new DAU....it show analyze could not completed.

whether Zenwork agent also must be 2020.3 agent ?? or my understand that it only require net4.8 installed ?

Thanks!!

The 20.3 Agent is not required for the new Feed.  However, there can be some reboot prompt-related issues unless you have the latest agent so it is recommended but more required.

    HI

I test devanced feed. it show "The analyze process failed to complete correctly"...I find a KM

    https://portal.microfocus.com/s/article/KM000017130

the issue similar with me...it require primary server need apply FTF960 , I apply it and reboot all primary server...the issue still exist.

    But I find a interesting...

when I meet the issue...I clear all conent of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Novell\ZENworks\zpm" then run "refresh" to let it redeploy DAU...

the error message disappear and I saw the analyze running on task manager...

after DAU completed...I click refresh again...the error message occur again.

I test many devices with different version but they indeed install Net4.8  all got the same issue.

and I check ZPM update date/time...they indeed upload their scan report to primary server..

I'm not sure manually deleting the contents of that folder is recommended nor would a refresh necessarily cause anything to come back.  Running "zac bv Discover Applicable Updates WINDOWS-x64" however, would force the related bundles to re-install.

I would then check the success of that bundle install.

If that helps, I would confirm the bundle is assigned and the schedule on which it runs.

If still failing, I would open a support ticket.

Note: It is never recommended to Delete the folder like that.

zac bv "Discover Applicable Updates WINDOWS-x64"

will however repair the damage done as it will also repair the patch agent component as well.

If anyone at MF told you or a co-worker to do that....let me know via a private message or email, and I will let them know the proper steps.

    On an Unrelated Note......

I saw a thread where there were concerns about applying .NET 4.8 to a Windows Web Server because different Web Sites needed different versions of .NET.

That should not be an issue.... (IIS) and other Windows WebServers allow you to specify .NET version for different websites.

So one server could host a site needing .NET 4.0,  another needing 4.5, another needing 4.6, another needing 4.7, etc...

.NET 4.8 does not replace prior versions but adds to existing versions.

Further Since 2019 is EOL in 6 months....and all future versions of WIndows Server include .NET 4.8 out of the box.....

Whoever is managing those Webservers may want to learn how to set those values because the clock is ticking....

It is fairly simple, but out of the scope of a ZENworks Forum.

Note: "zpm\workdir" is not terrible to remove on the old feed...but never the whole ZPM folder.

    it like my customer issue.

Customers purchased different types of products... The website platform is not only IIS but also apache/tomcat and other platforms..

It is not necessarily only the website system on these Windows Servers, there are also many application products and even self-written software that apply net... It is difficult to think that the IIS platform can support multiple Net platform, and some only support specific platforms.

For example, WIndows 10/11 on the client side basically does not need to be concerned about Net upgrades.. But the server is difficult to handle (another customer of my colleague uses different products. I also encountered a similar problem of Net platform diversity)
