TightVNC suddenly showing as an installed app on devices after patching for CVEs

It looked like the Recommended patches were for the (%@$#$) pls files (we don't have any instances of the apps in question, never mind on ALL-1 systems), so deployed the remediation.

Now both server and viewer of TightVNC as well as Notepad++ appear to be on all systems, but they don't show in Inventory 5+ days after that deployment.

Why?
What would be the ideal way to fix?   Littering the users' apps list with apps they don't use is just not right.
    Or is this time to open a case?

ZCM 2020.1 (other projects and life keep getting in the way of that next migration, sigh) with Windows 10 devices.
Trying to get that list of exposed CVEs down and this happens.

 (drafted on Notepad++)

    +1

    Hi Andy,

    Your post was just brought to my attention. Sorry for the delay.

    Yes, I recommend that you open a case for this so that Customer Care can help determine why this happened and also help you remove the unwanted applications. Quite an unusual result - one that we haven't seen or had reported before, so it would be good for us to investigate.

    Thanks. -Darrin

    Case 02563158 now opened.
    And funny how the suggested answers window that pops up has this discussion as the top entry ;)
