Is Suse 12 Server required to be registered in the Suse Customer Portal so ZPM can get DAU?

ZPM can't seem to get DAU for the Suse Linux Enterprise Server 12. Does it need to be registered in the Suse Customer Portal so ZPM can get DAU? Also does it need to have an active subscription?

    The SLES server does not need to be registered in order to get DAU assignment.  However it does need to be registered to do actual patching since the zpm agent uses zypper to patch.
