Does Zenworks Inventory recognize USB-C dockingstations?

Hello,

is it possible with 24.2 to recognize usb-c dockingstations?

I saw a few tools from different manufactors to install it and with wmi or in the registry entries for the docking station.

What do I need to do to see the docking in inventory?

    That would be iffy.....

In most cases, the USB-C Docking stations themselves are not visible in WIndows just the various components.

One may be able to identify their existence if on certain factors..If a Laptop had more USB Ports than normal, it would likely have a docking station attached for example.  Maybe the Type of Ethernet Port would be unique/different etc.  The other tricky part would be that inventory could change a lot depending on if it was plugged or not plugged in.

Some Vendors such as Dell ship software that will help detect Dell Docking Stations via WMI once the Dell software is installed.  In such cases, one would use WMI to detect the docking station and post the results to the registry and then collect the registry value as part of Inventory.  One could do this with any Docking Station vendor that ships custom software to integrate into WMI, but its a per vendor thing you would need to handle.
