Knowledge Document: How to delete old superseded system updates in ZENworks Configuration Management

Environment

ZENworks Configuration Managment

Situation

When system updates are introduced into the ZENworks Control Center / Configuration / System Update page, the older versions may not be visible anymore, and cannot be deleted from ZCC.

Resolution

On the server's console, go to the content repository system update folder:

Linux:  /var/opt/microfocus/zenworks/content-repo/system-update
Windows:  %ZENSERVER_HOME%\work\content-repo\system-update

(Older versions:  /var/opt/novell/zenworks/content-repo/system-update and %ZENWORKS_HOME%\work\content-repo\system-update)

Note the guids of the system updates that are still in content repository.  NOTE:  Do not manually delete from the file system.

Use zman system-update-delete-update to delete the unwanted/supersesded system updates passing in the guid of the system update.
