The next generation of Patch Management is here, starting with ZENworks 2020 Update 3 (released Nov 2022)! The Next Gen Patch Management builds on 20+ years of software patching experience to bring you:

• Faster patch scanning of managed devices
• An active, growing patch catalog with faster support for new applications and platforms
• Streaming of patch content ondemand if it is not available on the target Content Server when requested
• Automatic cleanup of unused patch content from Content Servers
• Less patch data stored in the ZENworks database

While Update 3 gives you the choice of moving to the Next Gen Patch Management or staying on the Legacy Patch Management, the Legacy Patch Management will be discontinued after May 31, 2024.For these reasons, we encourage you to install the latest ZENworks version (ZENworks 2020 Update 3 or newer) and move to the Next Gen Patch Management as soon as possible.

In addition to the migration prerequisites discussed in the videos, you should also ensure that you’ve applied the latest ZENworks 2020 Update 3 FTF (956 or newer) as it resolves Patch Management issues reported after initial release. You can download the FTF from the Software Licenses and Downloads (SLD) portal.
