Internet explorer 9 on Windows7

Hi,

I like to virtualize IE9 to run on computers where IE10 is already running. I need this because an application is not compatible with IE10 (even with the compatibility mode set). I can virtualize IE9 on a Win7 computer and run when there is NO IE10 installed. If IE10 is already running on a computer i cannot start a virtualized IE9.
What can i do, where do i something wrong?

Thanks

What process was used to virtualize this? Did you change any of the settings prior to building?

I'm actually seeing the same behaviour across several tests. If you have a valid support entitlement, please open an SR so we can track this issue properly. Otherwise, try building an MSI that allows side-by-side versions of the software to exist and see if running that MSI helps resolve the issue.

Do you like to use MSi as a kind of debug tool? Why should an MSI work and an EXE not?

Sometimes, using an MSI can be an effective troubleshooting tool. If there is some reason why MSI should not be used, you will at least want to create a diagnostic-mode executable. In this case, I would recommend building it with the "trace process starts" setting checked. That will provide useful logging information.

If we can get logs from running the virtual app in an environment where it functions (the build machine being the ideal place) and an environment where it doesn't function (any machine running IE10) we can compare the two to see where the behaviour in the non-working environment differs.

I also have the same problem with a ZAV version of IE8. The package is created with ZAV 10.1 and it crashes when I try to run it on a Windows 7 computer that have IE10 installed. The executable works when I run it on a computer with IE8 installed. The logs created in the diagnostic-mode doesn't tell me anything useful. I would like to know if it is possible to make this work?

    Same Problem here.
Can't run IE8 ZAV on a system with IE9 installed.
If the system is prepared with IE8 it works.
If i try to run an IE6 ZAV on the IE9 system it also works.
