Hi Thomas, I can build the latest Chrome without problems doing the following:

Did a before snapshot.

Installed Chrome 41.
Disable the Google update services (2 of them)
Empty the registry entry PendingFileRenameOperations in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Added the registry entry AutoUpdateCheckPeriodMinutes with a value of 0 in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Google\Update

After snapshot, enabled the following options in Settings->Process Configuration:
Enable windows class isolation
Always launch child processes as current user

Also delete the chrome default profile in your template because else the icon of chrome will be blank.
