ODBC Question

I'm trying to create an app for Crystal Reports v10.
I can virtualise the app but I'm having trouble with ODBC database sources. The two I'm needing to use are iSeries and Oracle Instant client. As anyone had any experience of ODBC sources. I see in other products they have issues with ODBC sources, I'm using Win XPSP3 to create the app.
