Creating fat client

Hello,

We want to use our desktop PC's (4y old) as a fat client to connect to the network.
And we want to use virtual applications for easy management.

Does anyone has experience in this matter?
What do I need to achieve this?

Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi Alan,

If you mean you'd like to store your virtual apps on the network and run them from there then that is absolutely an option. You would probably want to take advantage of the app profiling, depending on the size of the app you're virtualizing and the speed of your network. Smaller apps this is not really necessary but if you're looking at much larger apps it's probably a good idea. I'm pretty sure you could use spoonreg.exe to create shortcuts on the local desktop that pointed to the virtual apps stored on the network. Haven't played with that in a while but I believe that will work. That way you can just update the single centrally located app and all your desktops are running the latest version. You can also set up a webserver to stream your apps from and just stick a link to that on your desktops. So, long story long, yes it should be able to do exactly what you want and there are multiple options to get you there :-)
