I would rather be highly pro-active since 24.4 is so knew.....

looks like I was partially mistaken; AV updates didn't stop until the agents were updated on each workstation.  So after the server updated to 24.4, AV updates continued normally as long as each workstation was running 24.2; AV updates stopped when the 24.4 agent install finished.

I will open a case for this, but probably not until Monday morning.  I have crap hitting the fan in other areas today, and am only working a half-day.

The work-around of calling C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "c:\program files\micro focus\zenworks\product.console.exe" /c StartUpdate every hour via a zen bundle is working fine.  so far this is the only thing that seems to be broken after the 24.4. update, though admittedly I use very little of ZEN's capabilities.

btw, the only interesting messages I got were the following:

"JoinProxySatelliteServer.StopFailed" from my own PC which is a satellite server; this message was logged a day after the 24.4 agent update

"Unable to update Antimalware Agent since there is not an OnDemand Proxy server available" from a computer out in the shop logged about 2 days after the 24.4 agent update.

nothing appears to be amiss with either PC however, the update looks to have completed normally in both cases.  I've no idea if either of these means anything.

JoinProxy should play no role.....

OnDemandProxy Server is important.....Generally what happens is the AV Agent makes the calls for updates and actually sends the request to the OEM Site Directly....We capture the request and redirect it up the chain thru the content servers and out the OnDemand Content Master.  This significantly lowers the amount of data that actually needs to be pulled down from the internet and only when there is a change does anything actually come down.  

I'm not going to worry too much about that single OnDemandProxy Server message, it's shown up only a single time on a computer that's connected with a wifi bridge rather than hard wired.  I'll assume in absence of other indications that it was a glitch in the connection.
