What is the correct way to whitelist an app or service in windows to allow it to run without any interference from Zenworks Endpoint?

I am currently having an issue with testing Employee monitoring software that Zenworks antimalware (Zess service) doesn't like, the service ramps up to 40+ % CPU usage. I am assuming it is constantly scanning and stopping this other service for the Employee monitoring as the logs for that app show the service is stopped and restarted repeatedly every 2 minutes.

What is the correct way to whitelist an app or service in windows to allow it to run without any interference from Zenworks?

I have added the file locations in our scan exclusion policy however it doesn't seem to affect correctly.
