Knowledge Document: Duplicate mailboxes in Retain after configuring a new O365 Module

Retain Unified Archiving
Versions 4.11.0.1, 23.x, 24.1
Basic Authentication
Microsoft Graph API

Situation

After configuring a new O365 module and running a Refresh Address Book, duplicate mailboxes appear.

Cause

A new O365 module was created, instead of editing the existing Exchange module and configuring it to use  Microsoft's Graph API.  The existing Exchange module should be changed to use Microsoft's Graph API as outlined in the article, How do I switch from How do I switch from Microsoft's Basic Authentication to Modern Authentication (GraphAPI)?

Resolution

If you are in this condition of having duplicate mailboxes, you will need to open a support case.

Additional Information

This does not apply to Exchange On-Premise environments.
