Situation

The following message might pop up when saving a file with Notepad++ to a NCP volume, even though indisputably no other application has touched the file:

"
This file has been modified by another program.
Do you want to reload it?
"

When you click "Yes" to reload the file, nothing changes.

Cause

If this phenomenon only happens when the Client for Open Enterprise Server Advanced Setting "File Caching" is set to "Read and Write", then it is caused by a known defect, where the Client for OES does not update the ModifyTime (also known as LastWriteTime) of the file at the NCP volume with the ModifyTime from cache when it has written cached data to the file at the NCP volume before it retrieves the file's time stamps from the NCP volume on behalf of Notepad++.
