Knowledge Document: Client for OES: How to Change user eDirectory password from nwtray.exe using command line interface

Environment

Client for Open Enterprise Server 2 SP7 (IR4)

Situation

How to Change user eDirectory password from nwtray.exe using command line interface in OES client SP7 IR4

Resolution

This scenario is not feasible. Following the transition to credential provider v2 in the OES client, there are no longer any active nwtray switches.
Consequently, initiating the password change process from the command line is not an option; it can only be done through the credential provider (OES tray icon)

One potential solution to circumvent this problem might involve synchronizing eDirectory and local passwords and leveraging the Universal password policy to regularly prompt for the change of the eDirectory password, consequently updating the local Windows password as well.
