Using DNS configuration created with DSfW

Can be added any OES server as a DNS server to DNS configuration (DNSDHCP locator, DNS zone) created by DSfW installation? Using DNS configurationThere are some limitations?
I am testing to add OES server without DSfW installed as a DNS server to a DNSDHCP locator and a zone created by a DSfW installation and it seems all works OK. DSfW/AD adds new workstation OES DNS resolves manualy added A record.
