A Record for a DSfW domain

hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post our question. It is quite confusing for newbies to navigate this website.

I am having a brain freeze with whether I should create an A record under @ mydomain.com using DNS DHCP Console for our network running DSfW servers running DNS service for internal.

Normally for an external facing name server, we just point mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com
