Limit Mailbox Size doesn't work

Hello,

I use GWMM 18.0.1.81 in a GW 18 enviroment.

My goal is to limit mailboxsizes for many, but not for all users.

First I tried Multi-User-Model with selection of only 4 users for testing. The Tab Disk Space Management shows the Mailbox Size Limit (currently "0") and an empty checkbox "Mailbox Size Limit Locked".
But I cannot change any of these parameters, neither the value nor the checkbox. It only "reports". Ok.

So I went to Single User Mode:

But nothing can be changed here too. "Enviroment Settings" doesn't allow settings? GW Mailbox Management doesn't allow "management"?

Or is there an issue in my connection to our GW-system?

Thanks for help,

Holger

You are not alone, this settings is grayed out on my install too. I would open support ticket.

    Hello David,

it seems, this forum isn't managed right by microfocus anymore? No answer after 28 days...

The GWMM Software hasn't got any updates since about two years, i pay for maintenance that doesn't exist...

Thanks  for your reply, now I know "I'm not alone"

    ;8-)

Holger - you are correct, unfortunately.  The stand alone application of Mailbox Management is no longer being maintained.  The functionality has been moved into Groupwise itself.  You will find it in the admin console.  Here is the documentation - https://www.microfocus.com/documentation/groupwise/groupwise-mailbox-management18/.  Please try the steps inside the admin console and if that doesn't work, please open a case.

Pam -  for me it looks like the documetation from the standalone version.

Also, i can't see that all the functionality is in GW-Admin itself.

With GW-Admin i am not able to add a proxy, no Junk Mail HAndling, no reset folders and how change signatures (multi-user).

But perhaps I lack the proper documentation to understand.

GW-Admin is light years behind Standalone, even not maintained for many years, you are lucky, that you have one.

Pam - The purchase of vertigo, now GMM, was necessary to administer the user mailboxes in a meaningful way. I am currently glad that although gw 18.4 is already installed, GMM still works.
In GW admin I can't create forwarding rules or change them except activate/deactivate existing ones. I also can't copy a rule or category to another mailbox.
And what about the great feature "GWIA Accounting Information", i can't see it in GW-Admin.
So I pay maintenance for many years and not all features are taken.
Is there a timetable when all features will be adopted one to one?
I see it like David, there is still a lot missing to replace the standalone version.

Please submit all of these via the ideas community so that the Product Manager can make the determination of their addition or not.  Right now the stand alone app is still available but we will not have any updates to it.

So I bought the product with all the features many years ago, paid annual maintenance and now have to go begging to the "ideas community" to get the features transferred to the new system.

    Hello,

I agree to rwalheim: GWMM gives much more important and helpful functionality for administration of mailboxes than GW-Admin.

    Have a look at GW-Admin:
    Manage Proxy: No way
Copy or edit rules? not in your dreams
    Copy signatures? not possible

The lack of functionality would be less painful, if Microfocus wouldn't collect money for this. It would be fair to interrupt the maintenance fee until they've have implemented the original functionality from GWMM to GW-Admin.
Or they will support GWMM again, the GW-admin is horrible in usability for any larger operations.

I seems like I have rent and used a car and MF claims more money from me for a better car, but all I'll get now is a bicycle...   Laughing

And by the way to probellos "Please submit all of these via the ideas community": with reference to my "car comparison" above:
I shall explain MF what I'm missing with my bicycle when I have payed for a car? Wink
But seriously: The functions we are primary missing are named by rwalheim, me and others in this thread.
