'Be Friendly to VMWARE Host Server'

During installation I found "Be Friendly to VMWARE Host Server" in "Web Administration & System Preferences".

But the doc says nothing about this setting ... WTF ...

I found a more than 4years old question about his in this forum ... but no answer.

If this setting is useless: remove it!

If this setting is useful: describe it!

Eliza - I haven't any idea what that setting is and like you I have found that there is no documentation on it.  I am trying to find out now what it's for.  Once I do, I will put in for a doc change to get it listed.  If I can't, I will put in a defect to have it removed.

I was able to find it in a copy of Reload 4 documentation.  I will send it to the doc team and get it added to current doc.  With newer computers / vmware versions and operation system, however, I am not sure if it is still needed but since the default option is disabled, it won't hurt to have in it in there

I meant to copy it and paste it here for you and forgot to do that.  Here is the explanation on it:

"Optimizing Reload for VMWARE Environments VMWARE is a very popular solution, that Reload fully supports. A customer using VMWARE noted that the Reload server would spike CPU utilization every minute. Reload can now be configured to minimize those CPU spikes. To make Reload work better in a VMWARE environment, do the following in Reload Console Administration. Select System|Control – and then enable “Be Friendly to VMWARE Host Server”."

Remember that this is from older doc so the setting is now in a different location.
