Situation

Unable to upgrade to the latest version of the SMG

Cause

The system is either using a proxy or any other network restriction that is blocking the update.

Resolution

Check if you are using a proxy within your network or any other network restriction.
In your SMG terminal, run

ping nu.novell.com

If the pinging above went through, then perform the below steps. If not, it means that there is a network restriction.

Get your Registration Code(RegCode) and E-mail address.

De-register appliance using

$ suse_register -E

Then register again using the command below

$ suse_register -a regcode-smg=<update-channel-key> -a email=<email-address> -d 3 -L /tmp/smg-reg-log
