new bug with 23.3.7 signature on-top function

after deploying SMG to the company last week, we've discovered a few emails that open blank after being processed by SMG. The culprit appears to be the signature-on-top code which somehow misinterprets the HTML email as text-only, and puts the text version of the signature in the html with incorrect tags. This renders the entire email undisplayable and it shows up blank.

Here's the beginning of such an email:

See where the on-top signature is added? that is the TEXT version of the signature; the HTML version is different.

This might be an issue if the email doesn't have a TEXT portion?

No, I've not opened a case yet, just discovered it a few minutes ago and wanted to see if anyone else is seeing this. I'm too busy with other tasks this morning to open a case, but will get to it this afternoon.

Hi Dave - it looks like all of the recent fixes to the Signature on Top feature have been in the HTML area. In order to get this reported to development, please open a case so we can get that done. - Pam

oddly I thought I had opened a case and just forgot about it, but apparently I never finished submitting it as it's not there in my case list nor do I have any email confirming that I created a new case. After the blank emails showed up I turned off the signature on top function and no one seems to care.

I'll go ahead and open a case; I have a couple of example emails stashed somewhere. I'm surprised no one else has run into this, perhaps they just took it as something wrong with the original email and didn't realize it was done by SMG.

I can't find the samples I stashed showing the issue, so there isn't much point in opening a case if I can't provide any evidence. I've had the signature-on-top turned off for months now... I may have to turn it back on again and wait for the problem to happen again.
