OpenText is excited to announce the general availability of Filr 24.3. This update is an innovation release, bringing new features, enhancements, and fixes for customer-reported and security issues. If you haven't noticed yet, Filr follows a quarterly release schedule, featuring three innovation releases and a long-term support (Q4 CY) release.
Filr now allows you to import external users directly from an LDAP store, whether it's eDirectory or Active Directory. This new feature enables you to manage external users, their credentials, and password resets using the tools provided by your LDAP source, significantly enhancing ease of administration and security.
Additionally, you get 250,000 authentication-only users included with your active maintenance of OES (Open Enterprise Server), OWS (Open Workgroup Suite) or EM (Enterprise Messaging). This means you can seamlessly integrate and manage a large number of external users, ensuring a streamlined and secure user management process.
Filr now warns users when they select a link that navigates to an external URL while previewing a document. Additionally, to protect against XSS (Cross-Site Scripting) attacks, Filr will block navigation to links containing scripts.
Filr client now encrypts any stored credentials for added security.
This release also includes important security updates to the underlying SLES 15 SP4 operating system, platform updates (including KeyView, PostgreSQL, Tomcat, and others), and fixes to several customer-reported issues.
These enhancements ensure a safer, more secure, and more reliable experience within Filr, allowing users to work with greater confidence.
