Filr Desktop Client for Linux

Situation

The Filr documentation states that the Filr Linux client is supported on SLED 15 SP4.  Attempting to install the Filr Desktop client on a SLED 15 SP4 PC fails.

Cause

The documentation is incorrect.  The installation fails due to the version of Python that ships with SLED 15.  The Filr client install expects Python 2.7 to be present prior to the install.  Python version 3.x is installed on SLED 15 which causes the Filr client installation to fail. 

Resolution

Install the Filr Desktop client for Linux on a SLED 12 PC.
