Suddenly: A network error occurred testing the connection (Netfolder Server/ OES)

All appeared to be normal 8 hours ago - no user complaints.

Today, no netfolder icon on the left side of the screen. In the admin console net folders do not connect with any preexisting and operational proxy user or admin. Any troubleshooting tips?

Is your database (server) up and running?

I would start by checking the /var/opt/novell/filr/log/famtd.log. You might have to bump up the logging level:

The /var/opt/novell/tomcat-filr/logs/appserver.log might help, but it is the famtd.log that shows you the Filr access to the Net Folder Servers.

You are right, Bobert . If database is down, then you cannot even login with common user accounts.

Use "Verified Answers" if your problem/issue has been solved!

Also check if famtd is running

Typically an issue with famtd. Check famtd using 'rcnovell-famtd status' or try restarting with 'rcnovell-famtd restart'

Thank you. For some unknown reason famtd died. confirmed with rcnovell-famtd status >> unused. All is good.
